Intervention Project

Final Outfit Public Painting it

Public Painting it
For this project I wanted to proof people that everybody can be an artist no matter what, it's a thought I always had and on this project I wanted to show it so my idea was to make an artistic intervention, which was about getting people to express their creativity and demonstrate their artistic abilities, I went to the Bayonne park one of the biggest parks and the most popular from there and I dressed all white and I told everybody from there to make painting in canvas but the canvas was me I told everybody to paint on me and demonstrate their creativity and show them the art work that everybody done. What a person paints, even if it is just a single line is art and each person gives it their own value and I decided that they should paint on me since I plan to use the art of all of those who participated because that is the value that I give it to their art. For this project I based on one part of the article "Why Art Activism?" where it says: "While it takes years of professional training to practice (or even understand) law, policy analysis, or governmental lobbying, creativity is a skill we all already possess and can learn to hone and use to great effect". Which I feel is true because not everybody needs to be a "professional" to create art even if it's to share and opinion or give a message. During the first chapter of the book "The Art of Activism", shows a lot of examples of how a lot of artists catch the publics attention doing something different, something that is not usually seen as something "normal" and specific example that I want to talk is the "Stepping off the curb", which it is literally not following a straight line and sometimes we want to go to the other side to see what are we not looking at and what are we not experiencing and followed that and I made people paint on my clothes and that made me see how all the people are talented and have such a big potential.
