Digital Poster
Many undocumented parents are deported every year from their children, changing their family life forever. These families are permanently affected, the children born in this country are left without their parents and the parents without their children. The parents go back to their native country where they left for a better future for their family. In 2012 a group of immigrant activists decorated an old bus that they bought with monarch butterflies. In the book The Art of Activism, page 30 "The monarch butterfly, a beautiful creature that annually migrates across North America, from Canada through the United States to Mexico and back again." The butterflies on my poster are the representation of a family flying together to have better protection and be able to survive. It is a comparison with immigrants who are also forced to emigrate so that they and their families can survive
"The "Undocubus" was then taken on a road trip through the Southern United States to protest local anti-immigration laws that had created a climate of xenophobia and fear." I believe in a safe country for the citizens of this country without affecting the hard working people who only seek to protect and provide a better future for their families.
