For my poster, I decided to title it ¨Dont make trees rare, keep them with care.¨
I choose this as my topic because from my area (Lakewood, about an hour away from Jersey City), a lot of issues are arising due to acres of land being bought and overturned into making new homes. Area that has been left alone for many, many years and are now changing. Trees contribute to the environment by providing oxygen, improving air quality, climate amelioration, conserving water, preserving soil, and supporting wildlife.
An image/poster I was inspired by. Showing facts about why trees are so important.
Unfortunately, the area where I would’ve liked to post my poster is still under construction so I could not post my poster as I would’ve liked. However, I went around my neighborhood and put my poster on poles.
According to GreenGeeks, over 36 million trees get cut yearly just in the United States. Nature gets cut for human structures, such as houses, roads, stores, etc. Increased development by humans is the number one reason why deforestation occurs. Do keep in mind, not all tree loses are due to human impact, some are due to natural occurrences such as natural disasters. One factor that is increasing is forest fires which is only becoming worse due to climate conditions worsening.
