This is what I know about art
“Sharing art has helped me learn how to make my voice heard and ask better questions.” (8)
I liked this part when she says that how art helped her how to express herself, usually people are not good with words and they try to look some way to share opinions and one of the best ways to do it is our artistic side.
“If you read the name of an artist or other person that you don’t know, I hope you’ll take frequent pauses to research them.” (16)
This part of the book catch my attention since it shows the public figures that she admires in the art world and encourages any reader to search for the names of the artists she mentions, helping to demonstrate what various artists and their talents are capable of and may even motivate others to try to demonstrate what each one can do.
“The Studio Museum had taken a chance on me, and I wanted to take a chance on the art world.” (16)
At the beginning of the book she was al talking about that how she wanted to be an architect or study science or mathematics but she got into the museum studies at the beginning she was confused about it but after time she felt like she wanted to give a chance in “the world of art” and for me it’s incredible of how the world of art can help anybody and I felt a little identified in this part va use when I finished high school I was about to study medicines but I decided to get into the world of art and at this point I can tell I made a great decision.

Kerry James Marshall
A portrait of the Artist As a Shadow of his former self, 1980.
I liked this painting, because he decided to make a portrait of himself from the past in a creepy but at the same time a little humorous way of his version of the past. Maybe he did it that way because his past was not very good to him he tries to reflect it in his job or he just found it interesting to reflect himself in that way.
